On arrival to todays class, we were set the immediate task to produce one piece of work, based around out theme and we only had the lesson to complete it. With this prominent deadline, I knew that I would have to work fast, and not over-complicate my idea - make it nice and minimalistic I said to myself. I thought about the idea and brainstormed a few possibilities.
With these ideas, I had to choose one and stick with it. I liked the idea of advertising as it meant that I could make a poster and that would not take up too much time - therefore I wouldn't be pressured into rushing something more advanced.
"Where to start with my poster?" Is the question I found myself asking multiple times. I thought about existing posters and common traits among them.
After looking (the images above are just a select few) it became apparent that they all feature an image of the car and have a slogan to go with it. This made me think of my favourite adverts that I have grown up with, always getting the posters in the post or seeing them in the showroom - the Porsche adverts. These adverts always caught my eye as they were so minimal, with just one picture of a car - sometimes not even the one being advertised, just one from the past, and then a witty and sometimes sarcastic slogan which related to the image.
I now needed to take a look through my photo library of images of Porsches that I had and could use.
After looking at the images, I really loved the green 1975 Carrera with proceeding, newer models behind it. I thought that the idea could lead to something about age and I could get a witty quote to match it and it would look like a Porsche poster.
Age Quotes -
"Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been" - good because you smile when you drive a Porsche
"You can't help getting older, but you can help getting old" - Should enjoy driving a Porsche to keep you youthful
"Today is the oldest you've ever been, nd the youngest you'll ever be" - I like this quote a lot as it takes some thinking and would draw the viewer in for longer, making them ponder and consider the message and sale point of the poster.
