In the modern day and age, Christmas has become a time of Coca-Cola Santa and present giving. I feel that with these current traditions, people have lost sight of what Christmas is all about - religion. In my household, we have very limited presents and we like to focus on the true meaning behind Christmas. We like to remember the traditional nativity story and we celebrate the birth of the Baby Jesus. These beliefs have made me want to focus my bauble piece on the birth of Jesus - exploring the many symbols that were parallel to the Son of God's birth.
